The Lake Trash concept originated the summer of 1988 while anchored in “Cocktail Cove” on Geist Reservoir in Indianapolis. A group of people (including our founder and CEO) decided to take their jet-skis out for a spin. After a bit of “hot doggin” and a few of their own races, they noticed a woman on her boat who seemed a bit irritated and decided to give them a piece of her mind: “ You boys are trash. Nothing, but Lake Trash,” she yelled. Thus became our name: Lake Trash. Finally, we had a name for the group of fun-loving, water-enthusiasts! Over the years and many social-events later, this group of friends and boaters has become known as “Lake Trash.”

It’s all about the people.

Boating is as much about the people and the good times spent together as it is about visiting different lakes and their events. Out on the lake, everyone is family. Boaters, water skiers, house boaters, or wake boarders it doesn’t matter. The love for the water and the amazing calming effect it has on you is what bonds boaters together. So don’t be surprised if when you are on a lake everyone waves and says “hello.” Remember, we are all Lake Trash at heart!
