The Intracoastal Waterway is a commercial waterway that makes for great private parties
The Intracoastal Waterway, running the entire length of the Eastern Seaboard, is a commercial waterway where commercial users must pay a fuel tax (no tolls though) and private citizens can cruise for free. The 3,000 mile waterway is used often by those wanting to travel the country in a different fashion or who are looking for an extra long water cruise. Recreational boaters are encouraged to use the waters for travel, fun and enjoyment. Because the waters are used mostly for commercial reasons, you will have to keep an eye out for the bigger boats (letting them pass by with no trouble), but outside of that, the Intracoastal Waterway is a great place for a private party
