Grapevine Lake is an Army Corp of Engineers project and it exists to serve as a flood control project and water storage space for cities in the metroplex. However, Grapevine Lake is also a popular spot for recreation. Sailing and water sports are popular as well as fishing and even hunting. White bass, black bass, crappie and catfish can be found in the lake and there are plenty of boat ramps.
